Handoff Doc
Writes a portable handoff doc so nothing gets lost between sessions.
What it does
/handoff-doc creates a structured document capturing everything relevant about the current state of your work: what's in progress, what decisions were made, what's still open, and what the next person (or your future self) needs to know to continue without starting over.
Claude Code sessions have context limits. Projects have off days and context switches. The handoff doc is the bridge.
When to use it
- Before ending a long session where you've made progress you don't want to lose
- When handing a project to a colleague
- When switching between multiple active projects and you need to context-switch cleanly
How to trigger it
Say: write a handoff doc for [topic]
Or at the end of any session: create handoff
What you need
Works without integrations. The skill synthesizes from the current conversation and any memory files loaded in the session. The output is a plain markdown file you can share, store, or paste into a future session to resume where you left off.
